There is no such thing as cold calling in Japan. At least not the way we know it. However, the effectiveness of a phone call has increased in direct proportion to the amount of unsolicited e-mail sent, and that’s a lot! So how can you use this valuable sales tool in Japan?

Yep been there and done that. However cold calls can be effective some times although chances are slim at best in high tech. Because time is money pressure is full on, company people don't want to risk time on an unknown. That is unless you are tickling a hidden corporate need.. Meaning someone upstairs recognizes this is inline with their internal corporate strategy.

Yuj- Thanks for your comment. It's all about finding needs, latent or active, and filling them in a timely manner.

We have recently opened in Japan and are contacting thousands of companies (Cold Calling) every day. We are finding this very successful and we are even doing 1 call closes. I thinks it's just about the approach. We also have an outside sales team
